United States Ty Summers has established a career as a robust linebacker in the National Football League, bringing a decade of professional experience to various teams.
Summers signed a one-year contract worth $1.27 million this past offseason. His deal includes a $25,000 signing bonus, a $50,000 roster bonus.

Ty Christian Summers, born on December 31, 1995, in San Antonio, Texas, developed his athletic skills early, playing both quarterback and safety at Reagan High School. He achieved All-District honors, throwing for over 2,000 yards and 16 touchdowns and rushing for over 1,700 yards and 31 touchdowns. This early versatility set the foundation for his collegiate career at TCU, where he played 51 games and started 32. During his time with the Horned Frogs (2014–2018), Summers recorded 317 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, and 10 sacks, including a career-high 121 tackles in his sophomore season. His performance earned him Second-team All-Big 12 honors in 2016 and honorable mention All-Big 12 honors in 2017 and 2018.
Summers’ professional journey began when he was selected by the Green Bay Packers in the seventh round (226th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. He spent from 2019 to 2021 with the Packers, primarily contributing as a core special teamer and backup linebacker. In 2022, he had stints with both the Jacksonville Jaguars and the New Orleans Saints. He then returned to the Saints for the 2023 season. In 2024, Summers briefly rejoined the Jacksonville Jaguars before signing with the Detroit Lions and later the New York Giants. His career progression highlights his consistent presence in the NFL, often valued for his special teams play and reliability.
Throughout his NFL career, Summers has accumulated 89 total tackles, 2 pass deflections, and 1 fumble recovery.
