Football ace Ty Summers signed for the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL) in 2019. The talented linebacker was selected in the seventh round of 2019 NFL Draft after impressing during his college career at TCU. An outstanding tackler who delivers forceful blows, Summers has a strength coveted by all NFL teams and also works well between the tackles and is able to avoid blocks effectively.
Hailing from San Antonio, Texas, Summers was not a heavily recruited player coming out of Reagan High School but went on to prove himself as an impact player over four seasons at TCU. During his tenure in college the youngster racked up 317 total tackles and 10.5 sacks. In addition to his impressive statistics, he also showed excellent instincts in the run game and in rushing the passer, with 22.5 tackles for loss over his four college seasons. Summers started 32 games for the Horned Frogs and played in 51, and received honorable mention all-Big 12 honors in 2017 and 2018.
In May 2019 Summers signed his rookie contract with the Packers after the team picked him in the seventh round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He entered the 2021 season as a backup linebacker and core special teamer before suffering a hamstring injury, but has since returned to full fitness and playing the game he loves.
