William Michael Morgan

William Michael Morgan was born on May 13, 1993, in Vicksburg, Mississippi. His exposure to classic country music from an early age cultivated an interest in artists like Marty Robbins. By the age of nine, Morgan had acquired his first guitar and began independently learning songs by traditional country musicians such as Keith Whitley and Mark Chesnutt. His musical endeavors progressed, and by 12, after experiencing a Dierks Bentley concert, he formed a band that performed in Vicksburg and surrounding areas on weekends. At 13, in 2006, Morgan and his band released an independent album titled “Always Country,” simultaneously balancing part-time work to support his musical aspirations. This early start established a foundation for his future career in country music.

At 16, Morgan initiated regular trips to Nashville, Tennessee, for songwriting sessions. This led to a significant career transition at 18 when he relocated to Music City to pursue his musical ambitions. By 19, Morgan secured both a publishing contract with Warner/Chappell Music and a recording deal with Warner Music Nashville. His debut single, “I Met a Girl,” was released in July 2015, achieving critical recognition and airplay across country radio platforms. The single went on to reach number two on the Country Airplay chart and number eight on the Hot Country Songs chart by October 2016, earning a Gold certification from the RIAA. Following this success, Morgan made his debut at the Grand Ole Opry in September 2015, performing alongside his country music heroes. His self-titled EP was released in spring 2016, preceding his full-length debut album, “Vinyl,” which was released on September 30, 2016. The album’s second single, “Missing,” was released to country radio in November 2016. Morgan concluded his partnership with Warner Bros. Nashville in January 2019, continuing to release new music through other ventures.

In recent years, Morgan has continued to release new music and collaborate with various labels and publishers. He signed with ONErpm, a service company that distributes music while allowing artists to maintain creative control. In 2022, he inked a publishing deal with Porchlight Music, further expanding his reach within the music industry. His recent releases include “In Walked You” (2023), “Country Classics Vol. 1” (2024), and “Together We Stand” (2024), showcasing his enduring commitment to traditional country music. His consistent output and strategic partnerships highlight his ongoing presence and development in the country music landscape.
