Professional Russian freestyle wrestler Zaurbek Sidakov is a gold-medal-winning athlete and two-time world wrestling champion in the 74kg category.
Have competed professionally since he was in his teens, Sidakov enjoyed his first senior-level win, after taking home the bronze medal in the 65kg category at the 2015 Golden Grand Prix Ivan Yarygin competition. Having continued to participate in this prestigious wrestling competition throughout his career, Sidakov went on to win his first gold medal title at the even in 2016, followed by two silvers in 2017 & 18, as well as a second gold medal at the competition during 2019. Competing internationally as one of Russia’s top freestyle wrestlers, Sidakov has gone on to add an array of medals to his collection, including his first national championship gold medal when he won gold in the 70kg category at the 2016 Russian National Championships. Following a silver medal win in the 70kg category during 2017 at the Alans event and a gold medal at the 2017 Alrosa-European Nations Cup, Sidakov’s success has continued to grow as a wrestler. During 2018 he won an impressive four gold medals, one at the Military World Championships and another in the U23 European Championships. He also went on to enjoy his second national title win at the Russian National Championships and his first World Championship gold medal win in the 74kg category.As expected, 2019 saw another exceptional year for Sidakov during which he took home gold medals in the 74kg category at the World Cup, the European Games and the World Championships for a second consecutive year, a victory he later dedicated to the deceased of the 2004 Beslan terrorist school attack.
