Anna Hall

Anna Marcia Jean Hall, born on March 23, 2001, in Denver, Colorado, grew up in an athletic family in Highlands Ranch. Her early athletic endeavors included high jump and 1500 meters from age seven, alongside participation in skiing, soccer, volleyball, lacrosse, field hockey, and swimming. Hall’s high school career showcased her multi-event talent, earning her three New Balance Nationals pentathlon titles between 2017 and 2019, and the high jump title in 2018. She began setting national high school records in pentathlon and heptathlon in 2018, the same year she made her international debut at the World Under-20 Championships, finishing ninth. She continued to improve, securing the Pan American U20 Championships heptathlon title in 2019 and becoming a back-to-back U20 national champion in heptathlon.

Hall’s collegiate career began at the University of Georgia (2019-2021), where she earned All-America honors in high jump and pentathlon. In 2021, she secured two First Team All-America honors, helping the Bulldogs to a third-place NCAA Outdoor team finish, and was named First-Team All-SEC for Indoor and Second-Team All-SEC for Outdoor. Her time at Georgia was marked by a significant injury at the 2021 U.S. Olympic trials, where she broke a navicular bone in her foot during the 100 meters hurdles. Following a coaching change and subsequent transfer to the University of Florida (2021-2022), Hall made a strong comeback. At Florida, she won SEC indoor titles and then claimed pentathlon and heptathlon titles at the NCAA Division I Indoor and Outdoor Championships, respectively. She played a key role in the Gators winning their first women’s NCAA Indoor team title in 30 years and their first-ever NCAA Outdoor team title. In 2022, she shattered the collegiate heptathlon record with 6412 points at the Texas Relays and earned a bronze medal at the World Athletics Championships in Eugene, setting a new NCAA record of 6755 points.

Transitioning to a professional career in August 2022 by signing with Adidas, Hall continued her high-level performance. In February 2023, she set a North American indoor record in the pentathlon with 5004 points, placing her second on the world all-time list and just missing the world record. She also won the 400 meters title at the USATF Indoor Championships. In May 2023, Hall recorded a world-leading 6988 points at the Hypo-Meeting in Götzis, further solidifying her position. After knee surgery in January 2024, she secured her spot at the 2024 Paris Olympics by winning the heptathlon at the U.S. Olympic trials, ultimately finishing fifth in Paris. In 2025, she achieved a personal best of 7032 points at the Hypo-Meeting in Götzis, winning the event and tying for second on the all-time list. She also won her fourth consecutive heptathlon title at the 2025 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships and became World Champion in heptathlon at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo with 6888 points, winning the World Athletics Combined Events Tour for that year.
