Derek Klena

Derek Klena made his Broadway debut as Fiyero in the 10th-anniversary production of Wicked in 2013, following his acclaimed origination of the role of Eddie Birdlace in the stage adaptation of Dogfight in 2012. His early career also included participation in regional Southern California theater from 2009 to 2011 and an appearance on the ninth season of American Idol. Klena continued to establish his presence on Broadway, originating the role of Michael Johnson in The Bridges of Madison County in 2014, further cementing his reputation as a dynamic theatrical talent. A significant milestone in Klena’s career was originating the role of Dmitry in Anastasia, which premiered in Hartford, Connecticut, in 2016 before opening on Broadway in 2017.
