George Russell established himself as a prodigious talent in motorsport, winning the BRDC Formula 4 Championship in his single-seater debut in 2014. His early career saw him achieve significant success in karting, including becoming the MSA British Champion and British Open Champion in the cadet class by 2009, followed by consecutive victories at the junior direct-drive Karting European Championship in 2011 and 2012. Building on this foundation, Russell secured the 2017 GP3 Series championship and followed this with the 2018 FIA Formula 2 Championship. He notably became only the fifth driver to win the GP2/Formula 2 championship in their rookie season and the second to win both titles in their respective rookie seasons.
Looking ahead, Russell showcased continued dominance at the 2025 Canadian Grand Prix, where he achieved a hat-trick, securing pole position, the race win, and the fastest lap. He is contracted to remain a key driver with Mercedes until at least the end of the 2026 season, where he is set to lead the team following Lewis Hamilton’s departure, cementing his position at the forefront of Formula 1.
