Jey Uso

Joshua Samuel Fatu, known professionally as Jey Uso, was born on August 22, 1985, in San Francisco, California. Raised in a family steeped in professional wrestling, with his father being WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi and part of the esteemed Anoaʻi family, Jey’s path into the wrestling world was a natural progression. Before his wrestling career, he pursued American football, playing linebacker for the University of West Alabama from 2003 to 2005. Realizing his football ambitions were not taking the desired direction, Jey and his twin brother, Jonathan (Jimmy Uso), transitioned into professional wrestling, making their debut in 2007.

Jey’s career in WWE began in 2010 in Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW), where he quickly formed a successful tag team “The Usos” with his brother Jimmy, capturing the FCW Florida Tag Team Championship. The duo soon transitioned to WWE’s main roster, where they became one of the most decorated tag teams in history. They secured multiple WWE Tag Team Championships, including three reigns as Raw Tag Team Champions and a record-setting five reigns as SmackDown Tag Team Champions. Their remarkable run included holding both titles simultaneously, becoming the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champions, and setting a record for the longest male tag team championship reign in WWE history at 622 days. The Usos also earned two Slammy Awards for Tag Team of the Year in 2014 and 2015.

In recent years, Jey Uso has successfully transitioned into a prominent singles competitor. His notable achievements include winning the André the Giant Memorial Battle Royal in 2021 and winning the Men’s Royal Rumble match in 2025, which led to a World Heavyweight Championship match at WrestleMania 41. At WrestleMania 41, Jey Uso defeated Gunther to become the World Heavyweight Champion, marking his first world title. He also briefly held the Intercontinental Championship in 2024, further solidifying his status as a versatile and accomplished wrestler within WWE.
