Chinese professional volleyball player Li Yingying is an offensive beast on the court and a wildly recognized female volleyball figure across the globe. Joining China’s national team at the astonishing age of 14, she displayed early proficiency during her first major international event at the 2014 Asian Girls’ Under 17 Volleyball Championship in Thailand helping her team reach bronze and being named best outside spiker during the event. Her steady climb in the league led to another bronze medal at her second major international competition at the 2015 FIVB Volleyball Girls’ Under 18 World Championship in Peru.
By 2016, Yingying signed under the professional women’s volleyball club, Tianjin Bohai Bank, participating in numerous playing in the Chinese Volleyball League. To date, she has consistently been named either best scorer, best outside spiker, or most valuable player during matches among her teammates like Olympic gold medalist Yuan Xinyue and club captain Zhu Ting. The 302 cm spiker is the top in the current Chinese roster.
She’s accomplished gold at the 2017 National Games of China, gold at the Chinese Volleyball League twice, gold at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang, and her most recent gold at the 2019 FIVB World Cup in Japan. Yingying continues to train diligently while sweeping the courts as a sharp outside spiker.
