German indoor and beach volleyball legend Sandra Ittlinger started playing volleyball at the early age of ten. In 2008 she won third place in the D-Youth German Championships and soon after won the U16 German Championship. In 2009 Ittlinger began playing beach volleyball as well, winning the U17 cup with Yanina Weiland. The next year she went undefeated in the U17 Six Nations Tournament.
Eventually Ittlinger started playing for the TV Planegg-Krailling women’s team. Here she made it as a runner-up in the U18 German Championship. Ittlinger was also the youngest player to play in Bundesliga joining for the 2009/10 season. In 2011 Ittlinger took her talents to Rote Raben Vilsbiburg and again moved in 2012 to play for VC Olympia Berlin.
Beginning in 2011, Ittlinger and Yanina Weiland played beach volleyball as a duo. They played in the German Championship in Timmendorfer Strand in 2014 and in 2016 joined the FIVB World Tour as well as winning the CEV tournament. The same year, playing alongside Cinja Tillman Ittlinger won the CEV tournament once again. In 2017 Ittlinger joined forces with Kim Behrens playing on the 2017/18 FIVB World Tour and seeing many rankings in the top-ten. The team also played the European Championship the same year and placed ninth. In the beginning of 2019, Ittlinger announced she would begin the journey to Olympic qualifications with Chantal Laboureur. The team placed fifth at the European Championships held in Moscow.
