Tyrone Smith

Born in Dallas, Texas in 1986, Tyrone Smith was exposed to music at an early age through his father, a professional pianist. By the age of 13, Smith was proficient in piano and saxophone, often accompanying his father in club performances. His early musical education encompassed gospel and R&B, later expanding to include rock, jazz, funk, and hip-hop. Smith attended Booker T. Washington High School of the Visual and Performing Arts, where he participated in jazz combo and R&B ensembles. During his high school years, he honed his skills under the guidance of instructors such as Shelly Carol, Roger Boykin, and Jim Riggs, and received accolades including Downbeat Student awards and an NAACP ACT-So winner.

Smith furthered his musical education at The New School University Jazz & Contemporary School in New York City. Following his studies, he established himself as an accomplished musician, composer, and entrepreneur. His career has involved collaborations and performances with a range of notable artists. As a producer, musician, and music consultant, Smith has operated T’s Groove Inc. and has been involved with Progressive Movements LLC since January 2006. He is known for his “Only Positive Perspectives” (OPP) initiative, focusing on themes of equality, humanity, love, and peace.

His work extends beyond musical performance to include activism, where he advocates for equality and positive social change. Smith is recognized as a social influencer and brand ambassador, leveraging his platforms to promote his message.
