Yuki Tsunoda

Yuki Tsunoda was born on May 11, 2000, in Sagamihara, Kanagawa, Japan. His career in motorsport began early with competitive kart racing at the age of nine. Supported by Honda’s Formula Dream Project, Tsunoda transitioned to junior formulae in 2016. He quickly demonstrated his talent, winning his first full championship in the JAF Japan F4 East Series in 2017, followed by the F4 Japanese Championship title in 2018. His rapid progression led him to the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2019 with Jenzer Motorsport, where he secured a win and multiple podiums, and simultaneously joined the Red Bull Junior Team. In 2020, Tsunoda competed in the FIA Formula 2 Championship with Carlin, finishing third in his rookie season with three wins and seven podiums, earning the FIA Rookie of the Year and the Anthoine Hubert Award.

Tsunoda made his Formula One debut with AlphaTauri in 2021, partnering with Pierre Gasly. He achieved a career-best fourth-place finish at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix that year. He continued with AlphaTauri (re-branded as Racing Bulls) through 2022, 2023, and early 2024, demonstrating consistent performance and a marked improvement. For the latter part of the 2025 season, Tsunoda was promoted to the senior Red Bull Racing team, where he is now partnered with Max Verstappen. This move highlighted his ongoing development and potential within Formula One. His journey reflects a dedicated pathway through various racing categories, culminating in a position with a top-tier Formula One constructor.
