The fabulous sportsman Jasper Philipsen is a professional cyclist, who currently rides for UCI ProTeam Alpecin-Deceuninck. In 2022 he won two individual stages at the Tour de France, and he has won three individual stages at the Vuelta a España.
Born and raised in Flanders, Belgium, Philipsen started riding at a young age, and by the age of 17 he had won the time trial at the 2015 National Junior Road Championships. He repeated the feat the following year, and then in 2017 he joined the BMC Development Team. He was the overall winner of Le Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux, and also came first in Stage 2 of the Tour Alsace, and in Stage 5 of the Olympia’s Tour.
Philipsen turned professional in 2018, joining the Hagens Berman Axeon Team, and was again the overall winner of Le Triptyque des Monts et Châteaux. That year he also came first at Gylne Gutuer, and was first in Stage 4 of the Tour of Utah, and first in Stage 3 of Giro Ciclistico d’Italia. Over the next few years his winning streak continued, and while riding for UAE Team Emirates between 2019 and 2021 he claimed victory at Scheldeprijs, Eschborn-Frankfurt, and GP de Denain. He joined Team Alpecin-Fenix (rebranded later as Alpecin-Deceuninck) in 2021, and the following year he won two individual stages at the 2022 Tour de France.
