Widely considered to be one of the greatest players of all time, and often compared to the legendary Michael Jordan, LeBron “King James” James is a professional basketball player, presenter, writer, entrepreneur, and philanthropist, who famously shoots hoops for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. He has also represented his country in the Olympics three times, helping Team USA earn Bronze in Greece 2004, and back-t0-back Golds at Beijing 2008, and London 2012. Away from the basketball court, he co-hosts HBO’s critically acclaimed chat show The Shop, and in 2004 he established The LeBron James Family Foundation.
Born and raised in Ohio, James started playing basketball at a young age. Prolific at the sport throughout his High School years, he went on to earn many accolades, including being named Mr. Ohio Basketball (2001-2003), Mr. Basketball (2002-2003), and Gatorade Player of the Year (2002). He turned professional after he was selected in the 2003 NBA Draft by his hometown team, the Cleveland Cavaliers. He spent his first seven seasons in the NBA with the Cavaliers, then in 2010 he joined the Miami Heat going on to help them win back-to-back championships in 2012 and 2013. He returned to the Cavaliers in 2014, and two years later he helped them win the franchise’s first championship and the city’s first title in more than 50 years. In 2018 he joined the Los Angeles Lakers.
