Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, is an American musical producer, record executive, and DJ. Boomin, who was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, began his production career in high school and rose to prominence in the mid-2010s as a result of his successful collaborations with Atlanta hip hop and trap artists such as Future, Gucci Mane, Migos, and 21 Savage. Forbes described him as “easily one of the most in-demand hitmakers in the world.”
Wayne’s early producing credits include ILoveMakonnen’s 2014 hit “Tuesday” and Drake and Future’s 2015 single “Jumpman.” Since then, he’s had over a dozen top 20 hits, including Future’s “Mask Off,” 21 Savage’s “Bank Account,” Post Malone’s “Congratulations,” Kodak Black’s “Tunnel Vision,” Migos’ “Bad and Boujee,” and The Weeknd’s “Heartless,” with both Migos and The Weeknd’s singles reaching number one on the Billboard Hot 100. Post Malone’s “Congratulations” featuring Quavo received his first diamond certification (10x platinum) in 2019.
