Former surf champion turned reality TV star Rod Kerr is known for his larger than life personality and for being a lifeguard on Bondi Rescue.
Kerr was a hugely successful professional surfer, starting out by competing in his home country of Australia before earning his place at international events. He joined the ASP Tour for more than eight years, becoming known for his incredible performances on the water as well as his party animal lifestyle. During his time on the tour he was the first recipient of the Cultural Ambassador Award and after nearly a decade of international success he left the tour and started a career as a lifeguard. Kerr joined the Bondi Beach lifeguard team, later becoming a television star when the team were selected for a brand new reality TV show Bondi Rescue. The show follows the team as they manage the beach and perform life saving emergency rescues at sea. The show has become hugely popular, winning the Most Popular Factual Program at the Logie Awards five times and making Kerr a household name. He now has more than 100k followers on Instagram, with viewers loving his larger than life personality and kindhearted nature.
This former surfer pro continues to inspire others to take to the waves, and is now a popular TV and internet celebrity. Kerr is still a dedicated surfer and loves to spend his days at the beach and on the waves.
