Felix da Housecat is a two-time Grammy-nominated American DJ, dance artist and record producer with an impressive career that includes collaborations with Diddy, Miss Kittin, Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, remixes of Madonna, Nina Simone, Pet Shop Boys, Garbage, and Kylie Minogue, and memorable DJ gigs at some of the world’s most famous music festivals, including Coachella and Glastonbury.
Born in Detroit but raised close to Chicago, the house music revolution of the early 80’s inspired Felix to make music, and an introduction to acid-house pioneer DJ Pierre led to the release of his first single, ‘Phantasy Girl’ in 1987. Following a break while he studied media and communication, Felix began to release music again in the early 1990s, and his popularity soared in Europe with the release of smash “Thee Dawn” on William Orbit’s Guerilla label, quickly followed by “Thee Underground Made Me Do It,” and “In Thee Dark We Live”, which catapulted him further into the mainstream techno audience.
Continuing to release highly acclaimed tracks through the 90’s, Felix also successfully formed Radikal Fear Records, which became one of foremost house labels in the world. The year 2001 saw the release of the award-winning breakthrough LP Kittenz and Thee Glitz, which led to remix work for megastars Madonna and Kylie Minogue and a Muzik Award for Best Album. In the last decade Felix has remained consistently in demand for his electrifying DJ sets, whilst still finding time to remix tracks such as Katy B’s huge dance hit ‘What Love is Made Of.’
