Mauricio Andre Dubón is a baseball player for Major League Baseball’s San Francisco Giants. In the 26th round of the 2013 MLB draft, the Red Sox picked Dubón out of high school. Dubón was promoted to the Lowell Spinners in 2014 after batting .245 in 20 games with the GCL Red Sox shortly after signing for them. In 2019, he made his Major League Baseball debut with the Milwaukee Brewers. After Gerald Young, Dubón became the second Honduran baseball player to reach the Major Leagues.
Dubón was traded to the San Francisco Giants in July 2019. In 99 at-bats with AAA Sacramento in 2019, he batted .323/.391/.485 with 23 runs, four home runs, and nine RBIs. On August 29, Dubón made his Major League debut at second base for the Giants, getting his first Major League hit in front of his family, who were in attendance. In 104 at-bats with the Giants in 2019, he hit .279/.312/.442 with 12 runs, four home runs, and nine RBIs. In 117 at-bats in 54 games for the Giants in 2020, he batted .274/.337/.389 with four home runs and 19 RBIs. He was optioned to Triple-A Sacramento in June 2021 after hitting .234 in 158 at-bats.
