Australian professional skateboarder Shane O’Neill ranks 10th in the world by The Boardr Global Rank and 4th in street. Born in Melbourne, Australia he began his career securing first at the 2013 Copenhagen Pro Finals street event and later competed in numerous US state events from 2014-2015. By 2016 Shane won silver at the X-Games in Oslo during the Men’s Street Finals against the legendary American skateboarder Nyjah Huston and ahead of Brazilian skateboarder Luan Oliveira.
O’Neill later made history in the 2016 Street League Skateboard Super Crown Men’s Finals – also known as the World Skateboarding Championship – taking home a gold medal after receiving scores of 9 and above from all the judges. The following year he came in first during the 2017 Dew Tour Pro Street Qualifiers ahead of Yuto Horigome and won silver at the 2017 Street League Skateboard Super Crown Men’s Finals. In 2020 he competed in his first Oceania Continental Street Championships Open Male Finals placing first over other big name skateboarders like Tommy Fynn and Joey Cormack.
He is proudly sponsored by Nike SB, Thunder Trucks, Villager, Diamond Supply & Co. and Spitfire Wheels. In addition, O’Neill was sponsored by Primitive Skateboarding before leaving to start up his new skateboarding company called April Skateboards. O’Neill has had several custom shoes designed by Nike SB and Zumiez selling them as premium vaulted collectables.
