Artrageous Arts Community is an innovative American touring and virtual performance art company that emerged from a theater arts community established in 1980 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Initially focused on street theater, the group evolved into the internationally recognized touring band, The Pink Flamingos, and later into performance painters known as The 3 Painters in 1998. In 2014, they unified their diverse artistic backgrounds into a single, dynamic show called Artrageous, which has since captivated audiences with its unique blend of art forms.
With a remarkable history of over 3000 performances, Artrageous averages more than 100 theater shows annually. Their high-energy performances have been featured on various television programs and have included national and international tours. The troupe is celebrated for creating interactive live concert experiences that engage audiences of all ages, showcasing live painting, music, dance, and comedy, all while encouraging audience participation.
Artrageous is committed to community engagement and education, offering residency opportunities and workshops that promote creativity and teamwork. Their outreach initiatives, such as the Artreach program, have provided over 100 educational shows to communities across the United States. Notably, their performances have raised significant funds for charities, including a live show that helped Geary Community Hospital raise $1 million in 2020.
The group’s dedication to the arts extends beyond performance; they handle their own production, marketing, and logistics in-house, fostering a collaborative environment among their multi-talented members. With a mission to unite people through art, Artrageous continues to inspire and uplift communities worldwide through their engaging performances and educational programs.
