Actress, activist and entrepreneur Mariana de Cordoba has appeared in films such as “La Seleccion,” “Tres Caines,” and “Alla Te Espero.” For many years, she worked in Colombian television as a host and actor in a dozen successful telenovelas and American remakes (El Capo, Mental, KDABRA, Tres Caines, Greys Anatomy).
At the Chelsea School of Performing Arts in London, England, Cordoba began acting and singing at an early age. She went on to study acting at Studio Babel and Taller de Herramientas in Bogota, as well as Plot Point (Madrid-Spain). She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Universidad de Los Andes and speaks Spanish, English, and French. In 2013, after being diagnosed with endometrial cancer and successfully beating it, she launched a campaign called Que Vivan Las Mujeres in collaboration with Colombia’s Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization. Specifically, it dealt with disinformation and vaccine prevention.
In 2016, Cordoba relocated to Los Angeles to continue her acting training (Studio4, Lee Strasberg, Groundlings, and Scott Sedita Studio) and pursue opportunities in the American market. Her first appearance was in Director JS Mayan’s multi-award winning short “Someday,” and she was soon on the big screen. In 2018, she began working on a new line of eco-friendly, sustainable neoprene bags, named MarBags, with long-time friend and Latinamerican photographer Alvaro Nates. They are designed for a new generation that not only wants to help the environment, but also wants to raise awareness about endangered animals.
