Known to his friends and fans as Mike Chat, Mike Chatarantabut is a dynamic actor and stuntman best known for playing Chad Lee, the Blue Lightspeed Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue, one of the many successful spin-offs of the worldwide phenomenon that the Power Rangers franchise continues to be. Chat appeared in 40 episodes of the show, as well as tie-in video games and one-off specials. He is also the owner of Xtreme Martial Art (XMA), a style of martial arts that also brings together elements of acrobatics, gymnastics, and showmanship.
Born in Thailand, Chat today lives in Hollywood. It was in Illinois, however, that he first began training in martial arts. His television break came in the mid-1990s when he starred in several episodes of WMAC Masters, a martial arts equivalent of WWE. Chat took the stage name “Wizard”, with a signature move called the Shaolin Fury. This role led to his first professional stunt work on several episodes of the Mortal Kombat TV adaptation. His casting as the Blue Ranger in Power Rangers Lightspeed Rescue ensured his exposure to a much larger audience.
In recent years, Chat has become a much sought-after stuntman and coordinator. He has also begun moving into production, with action thrillers Symmetry and Symmetry 2 (in which he also acts and performs stunts) recent additions to his resume. With other recent projects including direction and stunt coordination on movies such as My Babysitter the Super Hero, it’s evident that Chat has become an all-rounder across an impressive range of demanding roles.
