Iconic WWE American wrestler Sting has been known as the face of two of the biggest wrestling organizations of his time, World Championship Wrestling and the World Wrestling Federation. Building a legacy over three decades, Sting has won over 25 championships during his career and received legendary status, winning Most Popular Wrestler of the Year on four separate occasions, a record shared with John Cena.
Inspired to wrestle after attending an event with renownedwrestlers Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant and The Iron Sheik, Sting made his ringdebut as Flash in four-man unit Power Team USA. Sting moved from theContinental Wrestling Association to the Unviseral Wrestling Association withteam mate Jim “Justice” Helwig, but only started to make his claim to fameafter joining WCW, where he was often pitted against arch rival Ric Flair.
He has been inducted in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter Hall of Fame and has been described as reaching “a lofty level of prestige that few will ever touch” by Slam! Sports. He has appeared in several shows and movies such as in Thunder in Paradise along Hulk Hogan, The Encounter and 2000 television movie Shutterspeed. He published his auto-biographical book Moment of Truth in 2004 and the WWE released a documentary on Sting titled Sting: Into the Light in October 2015.
