Gemma Cairney, a Brit School graduate alongside the likes of Amy Winehouse and Adele, a talented radio and TV presenter with an exciting and unique presenting style whose infectious personality makes her one of a kind. She is currently to be found each weekend on BBC Radio 1’s breakfast show and has previously presented the afternoon show on BBC Radio 1Xtra (weekdays 1pm-4pm), for which she was been nominated in the Best Music Radio Personality category at the Sony Awards 2012. Before having her own show, Gemma co-presented Radio 1Xtra’s Breakfast Show with Trevor Nelson and won a much-deserved Silver Sony award in 2010 for her efforts.
As well as presenting on radio, Gemma has presented two hard-hitting documentaries for BBC Three, ‘The Riots: The Aftermath’ and ‘Dying for Clear Skin’, as well as voiced a radio doc, ‘Bruising Silence’ which aired on Radio 1. She is also a regular roving reporter at Glastonbury Festival for BBC3 and has worked as a Music Columnist for Company Magazine. Having styled the BRIT nominated artist, Florence and The Machine and after working on a special fashion project with singer VV Brown, Gemma can also include the names of Kate Nash and Pigeon Detectives in her own styling portfolio and in the past has taken the role of assistant stylist to some of the biggest acts in the UK.
