Will Clarke hails from Bristol, but the music he makes is inspired by a whole lifetime of experiences, including the act that he spends each summer in Ibiza. As such his beats come with lashing of bass but have fresh and upfront house sensibilities that never fail to win over both DJs and dancers. With many years of experience and relies on labels like Southern Fried behind him, 2014 really saw Will break out thanks to EPs on labels like Anabatic Records.
Chief amongst his hits are cuts like ‘Bog Booty’, that got plenty of underground club plays from the taste making likes of Jamie Jones, Eats Everything, MK and Seth Troxler. Given the success of those tracks, Will soon got tapped up by the likes of Exploited, who signed ‘Gunna Give You’ and got it out to the world in late 2014. Again it proved a big hit that married old school rave and 90s signifiers with fresh and modern house perspectives. After that came a request from Claude Vonstroke’s Dirtybird, who released ‘Badness’ on their 10 Years of Dirtybird compilation. ‘The Boogie Woogie’ followed and again got played on BBC Radio 1 and 6 Music as well as Rinse FM. A remix of Azari & III then came on Turbo and it was another great track that proved Will Clarke is a key player in the contemporary house game. As a DJ Will is just as on point: his well informed sets lock people in from the first to the last beat, whether he is playing a small and intimate space or a bigger main room.
