She co-wrote the tracks ‘U’ and ‘Changes’ from H.E.R’s eponymous 2017 compilation album, which won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Her most recent release is a reworked version of her 2022 EP, 3000° entitled 3000°(ChopNotSlop).
Ambré was born in New Orleans and grew up in the city’s foster care system. She immersed herself in music, singing in church choirs and entering talent competitions. She began releasing her own material on Soundcloud in 2014 and was soon making waves, especially after collaborating with Grammy-nominated singer Kehlani on a cover of Drake’s ‘Peach’ and joining them on tour.
During the latter half of the 2010s, Ambré continued to build her reputation, releasing her first mixtapes, Wanderlust and 2090’s and crossing over into collabs with rock and electronic acts such as Keys N Krates and Ryan Hemsworth. In 2019, her career took another step forward when she signed with both Roc Nation and Univeral Music Publishing. She celebrated by releasing her debut EP, Pulp, and touring with fellow New Orleans innovator Lucky Daye. Her 2022 single with Jvck James, ‘I’m Baby’, gave her her biggest hit to date.
