Giveon Dezmann Evans is an American R&B singer and songwriter known for his distinct baritone vocals, achieving mainstream recognition through collaborations and critically acclaimed EPs. After his collaboration with Drake on ‘Chicago Freestyle’ in February 2020 garnered significant mainstream attention, peaking at number 14 on the Billboard Hot 100, Giveon released his debut EP, Take Time, in March 2020. This project topped Billboard’s Heatseekers Albums chart and earned a Grammy Award nomination for Best R&B Album. His independent journey began with the debut single, ‘Garden Kisses,’ in August 2018, leading to discovery by producer Sevn Thomas on SoundCloud and a signing with Not So Fast and Epic Records.

Also in 2021, he was featured on Lil Durk’s ‘In the Bible,’ which peaked at number 7 on the Billboard Hot 100. He concluded the impactful year with a BET Award for Best New Artist in 2021. Building on his momentum, Giveon released his debut studio album, Give or Take, in June 2022. That September, he recorded the track ‘Time’ for the Oscar-winning film Amsterdam, a song co-written by Drake. His consistent impact was recognized with the Best New R&B Artist award at the iHeartRadio Music Awards in 2022. In January 2025, Giveon was featured on Teddy Swims’ single ‘Are You Even Real.’ He expanded his discography with the announcement of his sophomore album, Beloved, in May 2025, followed by its release in July 2025. Beloved achieved success, peaking at number 8 on the Billboard 200, and included the singles ‘Twenties’ and ‘Rather Be,’ both released in 2025, showcasing his evolving artistry and distinctive baritone vocals.
