Alexander Stubb has transitioned from a prominent EU official to the President of Finland, overseeing foreign and security policy and serving as commander in chief. After his election as a Member of the European Parliament in 2004, Alexander Stubb went on to serve until 2008, holding significant roles on the Committee on Budgetary Control and as a Vice-President of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection. Prior to his parliamentary service, Stubb established a robust academic foundation, earning a B.A. in Political Science from Furman University in 1993, an M.A.

Stubb is widely recognized for his instrumental role and consistent advocacy in Finland’s decision to join NATO, a move that significantly reshaped the region’s security landscape.
