American singer-songwriter Rebecca Shocklee is best known for her work under the stage name Beckah Shae in the a Christian pop genre. She is with the independent record company Shae Shoc Records, which she and producer Jack Shocklee, her spouse, own together.
On April 12, 2011, Shae released the single “#putyourloveglasseson”. In the same year, Shae’s song “Life” was nominated for a Dove Award in the category of Urban Recorded Song of the Year, as well as co-writing a number of the songs on Montell Jordan’s Shake Heaven album and appearing on the title track. In 2013, she featured on Byron “Mr. Talkbox” Chambers’ EP Show Me the Way, on the song “Everything Works Together.” She featured on the soundtrack to the movie I’m in Love with a Church Girl (2013).
Shae has travelled the globe, assisting ministries like Kids Alive International, a group that rescues orphaned and abandoned children, and promoting their work. She recorded the music video for the song “Imagine” from her album LIFE after travelling to Kenya in 2010 with Kids Alive, expressing her desire to “watch others open up their eyes to the need and make a difference by being engaged in sponsorship, adoption, and missions.” She went to Greece in 2011 with The A21 Campaign as part of a campaign to raise awareness of human trafficking. At the Women and Girls Benefit Luncheon, which was held on the Lipscomb University campus in Nashville on July 28, 2011, Shae performed in order to raise money for Youth Life Learning Centers, a programme of Youth Life Foundation of Tennessee.
