Derek Hughes is a well known magician known for his funny shows and TV appearances. He made his TV debut on America’s Got Talent, but has since popped up all over popular networks. Having conquered the art of magic, Hughes has also dabbled in writing and comedy.
Hughes auditioned for the tenth season of America’s Got Talent, wowing the four judges with his impressive tricks. He had them laughing out loud as he did a complicated card trick, ending with the judge’s chosen card being taken from inside his pants. He became known for his hilarity as well as his tricks and was soon an icon on American soil.
Hughes made it to the final of the show, but didn’t win. However, that didn’t stop him from going on to have a successful career. He was invited to perform on Ellen and also made another TV appearance with the popular magicians, Penn and Teller on their show.
Since then, he’s also written an illustrated children’s book called Humpty Dumpty Lived Near a Wall, a humorous retelling which was published by Penguin Random House. It was well received as a book and added another triumph to Hughes’ resume.
Hughes has managed to garner a large following since his stint on America’s Got Talent, with over six thousand followers on Twitter and five thousand loyal fans on Instagram.
