Fiona Xie was born on January 24, 1982, in Singapore. Her career began early when she was discovered by a talent scout at age 15 while attending St. Hilda’s Secondary School. She started modeling for numerous print and television commercials in Singapore and Hong Kong before officially joining MediaCorp as a full-time artist in 2001. Xie made her acting debut in the Channel 5 drama “Growing Up” and gained significant recognition for her role as Genie 0385985 in the Channel 8 sitcom “My Genie.” Her early success was marked by winning “Best Newcomer” at the Star Awards 2001, just over a year into her professional career. She also developed a reputation as a bilingual variety show hostess, notably for the long-running series “City Beat.”
