Emmy-nominated Reign Edwards is a popular American actor best known for her roles as Nicole Avant in The Bold and the Beautiful, Melody in Snowfall, and Leanna Martin in MacGyver. She has also branched out into film, most notably in the successful slasher film Hell Fest — about as far away from The Bold and the Beautiful as one can get! It was, however, her portrayal of Nicole Avant in the long-running CBS soap opera that proved her breakthrough. It saw her nominated for the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series three years in a row. She was also nominated for Best New Character at the 2017 French Soap Awards.
Edwards was born in Harford County, Maryland, in 1996. She made her screen debut, albeit uncredited, in a 2008 indie film called Explicit Ills, which won awards at the SXSW Film Festival. After a string of one-off parts, she finally won her first major part with The Bold and The Beautiful in 2015. Her character, Nicole Avant, was the younger sister of Maya Avant, with whom she has a complex and often troubled relationship. The show’s legion of loyal viewers quickly took Edwards to their hearts, and her natural acting ability soon brought her to the attention of the Emmys judging panel. After leaving the show in 2018, she took the typecast-breaking role in Hell Fest, a film about a group of teens stalked by a serial killer.
Edwards has also continued to establish her on television, most notably in FX’s hard-hitting crime drama Snowfall, which is set during the crack-cocaine epidemic that hit Los Angeles in 1983.
