World-class athlete and Olympian, turned successful businesswoman and gym owner, Louise Hazel is a woman with a passion and the determination to match, taking over the world. Born and raised in Southwark, London, the Brit fell into sports at a very young age, encouraged by her dad. At the age of 10 she started training at the local athletics club, and from that point onwards a star was on the rise.
Louise graduated from the University of Birmingham with a BA in French, during which time she competed with the renowned Birchfield Harriers Athletics Club. During her illustrious career the heptathlete has competed in four major international championships, the first being in 2006 when she came in 17th at the European Championships. Three years later she topped this performance, coming in 14th at the World Championships. In 2009 Louise was ranked 2nd best in the country and 9th best of all time. 2010 marked the greatest achievement in the track star’s career, when she took away the gold medal in the heptathlon at the Commonwealth Games with a personal best of 6156 points. Two years later Louise had the honor of competing on her home turf at the 2012 Summer Olympics. Just before her appearance at the games she made her television debut, taking out the competition on Channel Four’s Come Dine With Me.
Since retiring from the track Louise has been able to focus on her gym, Slay, of which she is founder and CEO, and her television career. She has appeared on The Chase, the Celebrity Christmas edition of Ninja Warrior UK, The Challenge: Champs vs. Pros, and it’s spin-off The Challenge: Champs vs. Stars. The qualified personal trainer’s main goal for her business is to “ignite sustainable training for women worldwide”, something she achieves everyday through Slay Challenges and personal training sessions.
