With a following of nearly 12 million, an electric presence spanning more than eleven years and singles and albums featured in Billboard’s Hot 100 – hip-hop trio Migos is a force to contend with. Consisting of rappers Takeoff, Offset, and Quavo, the group formed in 2008 in Georgia. After exciting beginnings, their name took off following the debut single “Versace” in 2013. The song grabbed a spot in XXL’s 25 Best Songs of 2013 list. The song’s respective mixtape, Y.R.N. (Young Rich Niggas) was also placed sixth-best hip-hop album of 2013 by SPIN. Signed to Quality Control Music and 300 Entertainment, in 2015 they released their debut album Young Rich Nation, which solidified their place as one of the most exciting rising talents in hip-hop. Following their powerful breakthrough, Migos charged quickly ahead as a group to be reckoned with. Between 2016 and 2018, four of their singles, collaborating with artists from Nikki Minaj the Cardi B, cracked the top 100 Billboard Hot 100, with “Bad and Boujee” peaking at No.1. Then signed to Motown and Capitol Records in 2017, the group released the album Culture II, placed as a No.1 album in the US. Their ventures and talents have been recognised by names such as Drake and Lil Wayne, not to mention their various high-profile collaborations.
