One of the greatest players to have ever played the game of tennis, Roger Federer is a fearsome player with great style and grace on the court. The Swiss born star is one of the most visible in the game and has been in the top three of the world rankings for most of his career. One of Nike’s key brand ambassadors, Federer first turned professional in 1998 and since 2002 has never been out of the top 10. In his long career he has picked up many records including holding the world No. 1 position for an incredible 302 weeks in all, 237 of which were consecutive.
He has also won an im-pressive total of seven Grand Slam singles titles and made it to the final of each of the major Grand Slams no fewer than five times each, which is an all-time record. He has reached the Wimbledon final ten times and is one of few men to have ever captured a career Grand Slam by winning all the big tournaments in one season. Individual awards include being named the Laureus World Sportsman of the Year for four consecutive years between 2005 and 2008, which is a world record. He has also won the Davis Cup as part of the Swiss team and has won Gold in the Olympic Games doubles, as well as silver in the singles, losing out to Andy Murray in 2012. As such, few sportsmen are as decorated as this man and few ever will be again.
