Well swung garage, and vibe driven house music.
Bradford’s Thomas Sampson was an accomplished pianist at just 14 years of age when he first started experimenting with electronic music.
Fast forwards to 2007, a breakthrough year which saw TS7 producing hits such as ‘Smile’, ‘Raise Your Glasses’, ‘Ding Dong’, ‘Crazy Crush’, and ‘Come On Over’ (all whilst in 6th form, studying Music, Maths and Economics). By December that very year, TS7 had been approached by Atlantic Records to remix Estelle’s ‘American Boy’ which went on to reach number 1 in the national charts.
In the coming years TS7 would go on to remix household names such as Yolanda Be Cool, Lethal Bizzle, Kissy Sell Out, Tulisa, Afrojack and Meleka amongst others. TS7 also featured on a number of compilation albums including Pure Garage Rewind, The Sound of UK Garage and The No 1 Electro Album. His sound lies between well swung garage, and vibe driven house music.
Other accolades for this still young beatsmith include airplay on national TV including E4’s Skins, and BBC2’s Sound, presented by Annie Mac and Nick Grimshaw.
In December 2012, TS7 signed to established Urban/Dance label 3Beat Records. His first release Heartlight is a firm favourite amongst key taste makers in the scene, and is enjoying heavy rotation on Radio 1 (Danny Howard, Annie Nightingale, B.Traits, Mistajam, Toddla T, Trevor Nelson), and 1Xtra (Mistajam, Sarah Jane Crawford, Charlie Sloth, Target, Cameo, Nick Bright etc), as well as music channels MTV Base, MTV Dance, Aka, Flava and Clubland.
With true talent in abundance and the backing of 3beat/Universal, the future looks exceptionally bright for this gifted young producer.
